168 New Homes Coming To Nichols Ranch In Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A plan to construct 168 single-family homes on the east side of Interstate 15, just north of Temescal Canyon High School, is moving forward in Lake Elsinore.

On Tuesday, Lake Elsinore City Council members opted to accept the Oct. 19 unanimous vote of the Planning Commission to approve the planning application from Meritage Homes.

The development, which is visible from the freeway, is part of the Nichols Ranch Specific Plan that encompasses approximately 72.5 acres south of Nichols Road, east of I-15, west of El Toro Road/Wood Mesa Court, and north of the Temescal Canyon High School.

The homes are being built on approximately 31 acres at the site. Commercial retail — including a 130-room hotel, restaurants, stores, a fitness club, and a gas station — is also proposed on an additional 14.5 acres. Recreational open space is expected to total 8.3 acres, according to city documents.

The 168 single-family homes will consist of seven different floor plans ranging in size from 2,020 to 2,948 square feet. The lot sizes will range from 4,549 to 9,468 square feet, according to city documents.
