2 Adults, Toddler Hospitalized After Being Struck By Van On Highway 74

EAST HEMET, CA — Two adults and a child were hospitalized Friday afternoon after all three pedestrians were struck by a van while walking along Highway 74, officials said.

The collision was reported just after 1 p.m. where Highway 74 intersects Fairview Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol.

Officials said the two adults were pushing the toddler in a stroller when a van clipped them at an undetermined speed. The victims rolled into the roadway after they were struck, according to the CHP.

The motorist, whose identity was not disclosed, stopped after the collision while witnesses called 911.

Paramedics reached the scene shortly after the collision and confirmed the victims suffered minor injuries, fire officials said.

All three victims were transported to a local hospital.

No other injuries, or lane closures, were reported.

The collision remains under investigation.
