Pedestrian Killed In Jurupa Valley Collision ID'd
Two people who were hit by a car were transported to a hospital on Thursday evening. One of them died of their injuries, police said.
JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A pedestrian who was fatally struck by a car in Jurupa Valley was identified Friday, authorities said.
Around 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the area of Mission Boulevard and Soto Avenue, where they found two people lying in the roadway. The driver remained at the scene while deputies and CalFire provided medical aid to the victims, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The pair were taken to a local hospital, where one succumbed to their injuries and the other was being treated in critical condition.

Freddie Madina, a 42-year-old resident of Jurupa Valley, was identified by the coroner's office as the deceased victim.
Police said the cause of the collision is still under investigation. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, the department said. The crash prompted the temporary closure of Mission Boulevard between Valley Way and Soto Avenue.

The identity of the victim has not been publicly identified yet, pending notification of their family.
