91 Freeway Closure Planned: Nightly June 21-24
Construction work on the $471 million I-15 Express Lanes Project requires the freeway closure, according to the RCTC.

CORONA, CA — The Riverside County Transportation Commission’s I-15 Express Lanes Project continues, and construction work next week will require the full closure of the 91 Freeway at the I-15 interchange in Corona during nighttime hours.
The work will take place June 21-24. Each night, westbound 91 will close from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.; the eastbound side will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
During closure hours, motorists heading west on the freeway will be detoured south on I-15 to exit at Magnolia Avenue, and then north on I-15 to re-enter the 91. Those traveling east will be detoured north on I-15 to exit at Hidden Valley Parkway, and then south on I-15 to re-enter the 91. (See map above.)

The closures are required for crews to safely remove the temporary support structure used for bridge construction, according to the RCTC.
Construction on the $471 million I-15 Express Lanes Project began in 2018 and is expected to finish in 2020. The project adds two tolled express lanes in both directions on the I-15, between Cajalco Road and SR-60. Work also includes widening of bridges and construction of six sound walls, according to the RCTC.
