Firefighters issued an evacuation order for the brush fire, which had burned three to five acres of light vegetation and was threatening homes in the central part of the city.

A Cal Fire water-dropping helicopter was initially requested to make targeted runs on the brusher, but by the time the chopper reached the area, firefighters had already stopped its forward rate of spread, which occurred at 2:10 p.m.

A short time later, the fire was more than 50% contained, according to reports from the scene.

No homes were damaged.

No additional information was immediately available.
