Menifee Teacher Arrested For Public Intoxication At School: Police

MENIFEE, CA — A Menifee elementary school teacher was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of public intoxication, police said.

Officers responded around 9:40 a.m. to Chester Morrison Elementary School after an administrator reported a teacher appeared to be intoxicated while on campus, according to the Menifee Police Department.

Officers conducted an investigation and based on the findings, Staci Baker, 47, of Menifee, was placed under arrest on suspicion of public intoxication. She was booked at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta and was briefly held at the Southwest Detention Center, according to the Menifee Police Department and jail records.

There was no information indicating any student was physically harmed or directly endangered during the incident, and no ongoing threat to the school or surrounding community, police said.

Baker's next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 25 at Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, according to jail records.

No additional information was immediately available. The school district has not shared a statement regarding the arrest as of this report.
