ROMOLAND, CA — A weekend crash involving three 0ff-road vehicles in unincorporated Menifee left a teenager dead, authorities announced Monday.
Ivan Zenteno, 18, of Homeland died shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday on Gunther Road, south of McIntrye Road, in a community known as Romoland. The death location was a dirt road in a rural, hilly area, according to information from the California Highway Patrol and the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
Zenteno was riding a Yamaha ATV, when for reasons still under investigation by the CHP, his vehicle collided with two other ATVs.
Zenteno was ejected and died at the scene, the CHP reported. It's not immediately clear whether the deceased was wearing a safety helmet.
There were no reports of other injuries.
Alcohol/drugs are not suspected as crash factors, according to the CHP.
