Good Samaritans Rescue Driver Trapped In Wreckage On Ortega Highway

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — At least one person was injured Sunday after a rollover crash in Lakeland Village, authorities announced.

The crash was reported around 2:40 p.m. Sunday on the Ortega (74) Highway near mile marker 7.8, west of Lake Elsinore, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A reporting party told the CHP the vehicle hit the embankment and rolled over, landing on its roof. Good Samaritans stopped to help the driver, who was initially trapped, according to another reporting party.

Traffic remained fully stopped as of 3:15 p.m. due to emergency response vehicles blocking the lanes, the CHP announced.

The cause of the crash and extent of the driver's injuries were not immediately clear.
