RivCo Shooting Leaves Man Hospitalized With Neck Wound: Police

The victim walked into a business a told employees he was shot behind the building, police said.

HEMET, CA — Police are investigating a shooting after a man was shot in the neck in Hemet, authorities said.

The shooting was reported around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of South Sanderson Avenue, according to the Hemet Police Department.

Police said a man reportedly walked into a business with a wound on his neck and told employees that he had been shot behind the building where the business is located.

The victim left the scene before police arrived.

Officers found evidence of a shooting they believed happened in the 3800 block of West Stetson Avenue, and learned the shooting victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to the Hemet Police Department.

Police later contacted the man who did not provide any additional information except that he believed he had been shot by a pellet gun.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.
