WINCHESTER, CA — Authorities Saturday were investigating a shooting in Winchester that left one person injured.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at 11:37 p.m. Friday in the area of Winchester and Simpson roads, according to Sgt. Robert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Arriving deputies found evidence of a shooting, but could not immediately find any person injured or involved in the shooting. They later discovered that a victim, whose identity was not revealed, was at a local hospital with stable vital signs, Martinez said.
No further details were immediately available.
