Lake Elsinore To Host E-Bike Safety Town Hall Amid Rise In Riverside County Crashes (patch.com) — Lake Elsinore residents are being invited to an October 15 town hall focused on e-bike safety and the city's new riding ordinance, following a sharp rise in crashes across Riverside County. With young riders heavily represented in recent injury statistics, the meeting aims to educate parents, teens, and other community members on responsible e-bike use and safer streets locally.
2. 2 dead, 2 injured in head-on collision in Lake Elsinore (pressenterprise.com) — Two men were killed and two others seriously injured after a Chevrolet Camaro crossed the center line on Grand Avenue in Lake Elsinore Tuesday night and hit a Toyota Camry head-on. The drivers of both cars later died at Inland Valley Medical Center, and the California Highway Patrol is still investigating what caused the crash.
3. Nick Pivetta Goes Three Innings at Single-A in Latest Rehab Outing (rotoballer.com) — A San Diego Padres pitcher is making his way back to the majors by logging rehab innings right here in Lake Elsinore. Nick Pivetta threw three frames for the Single-A Storm on Tuesday, giving up three runs but, importantly, avoiding another setback as he works back from a forearm injury.
4. San Diego Padres minor-league catching coach out of ICE custody one week after arrest (pressenterprise.com) — Lake Elsinore readers may recognize Oswaldo Pirela from his time as the Storm's bench coach; he's now been released on bond after being detained by federal agents in El Paso. The Venezuelan-born Padres minor-league catching coordinator, who has an ongoing asylum case, was taken into custody while traveling for work but is no longer listed in the federal detainee system.
