• Ex-School Janitor Admits Molesting Elsinore Girls (mynewsla.com) — A former janitor for the Lake Elsinore Unified School District has pleaded guilty to felony charges involving lewd acts on two girls and possession of child pornography, following an online tip that triggered a county investigation. He remains jailed without bail while prosecutors and the court prepare for an October sentencing that could bring a substantial prison term.
• Padres minors: Joe Musgrove efficient in five-plus rehab innings for El Paso (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove is nearing a return to the big-league rotation after multiple rehab starts, including an earlier outing with the Lake Elsinore Storm, the team's low Single-A affiliate. His pitch count and velocity are climbing as the Padres weigh whether he needs one more minor-league appearance before rejoining San Diego.
