RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA — Homicide detectives are seeking the public's help to solve the 2023 murder of a 41-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man after developing new leads in the cold case, authorities announced Tuesday.
Victor Salazar was shot and killed three years ago on Aug. 18, 2023. Deputies responded around 8:14 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 10200 block of 25th Street, where they found Salazar suffering from a gunshot wound near Center Street, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
Salazar was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives with the department's Specialized Investigations Division — Homicide Detail have re-examined the case and are releasing Salazar's photo in hopes that members of the community can help reconstruct his final hours or identify a suspect.
No suspect description has been released, and a motive remains unknown.
