LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A commercial car-hauling vehicle caught fire on the 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore and ignited a small brush fire nearby Friday morning, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 7:36 a.m. on the southbound 15 Freeway, just south of Nichols Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters contained the blaze to the car hauler and a small spot of vegetation at about 8:05 a.m., fire officials said.
The fire damaged multiple cars that were loaded on the vehicle.
Three lanes on the southbound 15 Freeway were temporarily closed. All lanes were reopened just after 9:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol incident log.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
