WILDOMAR — The Wildomar Planning Commission is set to consider time extensions for Faith Bible Church's long-planned permanent campus and its interim tent structure.
During its Wednesday, Oct. 7, meeting, the commission will review the construction timeline for the planned 27,489-square-foot church facility located at 23580 Glazebrook Road, just east of Interstate 15.
Wildomar City Council originally approved the development and its accompanying environmental review in July 2019.
Although substantial construction has occurred, work on the permanent buildings has been paused due to a lack of funding, according to city documents. The church has not yet received a certificate of occupancy.
To prevent project approvals from expiring, the church has requested a three-year extension of time through April 15, 2028.
In addition, the commission will weigh a one-year extension for the project's temporary tent facilities. In 2020, the city approved allowing an approximately 6,000-square-foot tent structure to accommodate up to 350 parishioners for interim worship services during construction. Once built, the permanent facility is expected to feature 1,030 seats.
That temporary tent structure received its certificate of occupancy on Oct. 9, 2024, with its initial three-year authorization set to expire in 2027. In anticipation of ongoing construction delays on the permanent buildings, however, the church has preemptively asked for a one-year time extension on the tent facilities; if approved, the extension would run from Oct. 9, 2027 through Oct. 9, 2028.
The 6 p.m. Oct. 7 Wildomar Planning Commission meeting takes place inside City Council Chambers, 23873 Clinton Keith Road, Suite 106. See the full meeting agenda here.
