LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Firefighters quickly knocked down a second-alarm blaze that heavily damaged a commercial garage in Lake Elsinore Tuesday afternoon, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The fire was reported at 2:46 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Flint Street. Crews arriving at the scene encountered flames coming from the single-story building, prompting a second-alarm response.
Firefighters managed to halt the progress of the fire, recording a knock-down at 3:18 p.m. Because of the rapid containment, half of the incoming second-alarm resources were canceled before reaching the location.
One civilian was evaluated at the scene for minor issues and signed an Against Medical Advice release form, according to the fire department. No additional injuries to civilians or firefighting personnel were reported.
Crews were remaining on site for approximately two hours following the knock-down to handle salvage and overhaul operations.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
