Corona law enforcement thanked public for tips identifying driver of a white, Chevy Silverado, possibly linked to Monday incident.
CORONA, CA — A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday as the suspected gunman in a Monday night, car-to-car shooting that injured one woman — a crime possibly stemming from a road-rage incident in Corona, according to authorities.
Sergio Cibrian Medrano, of Corona, was taken into custody at about 2:30 p.m. and booked at Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside for suspicion of attempted murder, the Corona Police Department said.
The gunshot victim was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after police responded to the shooting, logged Monday at 10:13 p.m. on the 1200 block of Border Avenue, officials said.

"The investigation revealed the victim and Medrano were not known to one another when they became involved in a road-rage incident resulting in a shooting," the agency added.
After Medrano's arrest, detectives retrieved evidence, possibly linked to the crime, including a firearm and a Chevrolet pick-up, from a residence, "associated with Medrano," on the 1300 block of Mahogany Street in Corona, police said.

Earlier this week, Corona police released surveillance photos and turned to the public for help locating the truck, described as a white, four-door Silverado Heavy Duty, with black rims/hubcaps, dark tinted windows and with paint matching the mirrors and grille.
Corona police thanked the community for calling in tips that aided in locating Medrano. Officials deemed the shooting an "isolated incident" with no additional suspects involved or at large.
