UPDATE: Authorities ID Man Killed In Lake Elsinore Crash; Suspect Arrested
Laguna Hills resident Sergio Garcia-Estrada, 29, was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:19 p.m. Sunday. Luis Garcia Estrada, 26, of Lake Elsinore has been arrested in the case.
3/5 UPDATE AT 1:43 p.m.: A man has been arrested for vehicular manslaughter in an alleged Lake Elsinore street racing case that ended in a deadly crash Sunday.
Luis Estrada-Garcia, 26, is being held on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter in the killing death of Laguna Hills resident Sergio Estrada-Garcia, 29.
According to reports from the Lake Elsinore Police Department and the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, investigators believed that Sergio Garcia-Estrada lost control of the BMW he was driving and crashed after a street race with a silver convertible Honda. The Honda left the scene, and police had asked for the public’s help in finding the driver.

The crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. Sunday on Lincoln Street; Sergio Garcia-Estrada was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:19 p.m., according to the coroner's office. No other injuries were reported.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department reported today that they had arrested Luis Estrada-Garcia in the case. He is believed to have been driving the Honda and, according to authorities, was driving on a suspended license and has outstanding warrants in Orange and Riverside Counties for driving under the influence and hit-and-run.

It is unclear at press time if the suspect and the deceased were related.
Estrada-Garcia is being held at Southwest Detention Center. According to jail records, at press time no bail has yet been set.
3/5 ORIGINAL POST AT 12:50 p.m.: The man who was killed Sunday when he crashed his BMW in Lake Elsinore has been identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
Laguna Hills resident Sergio Garcia-Estrada, 29, was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:19 p.m., just 19 minutes after crashing on Lincoln Street in an apparent street race, the coroner’s office reported today.
According to the coroner’s report, Garcia-Estrada was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The report stated he was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of the car and rolled it.
There were no other injuries reported in the solo-vehicle crash.

According to a report Sunday from the Lake Elsinore Police Department, investigators believe Garcia-Estrada was racing a silver convertible Honda that disappeared from the scene, and that car's license plate number had not been obtained.
