Back To School: 2026-27 Lake Elsinore Unified School District Calendar

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Summer is winding down for Lake Elsinore Unified School District families, with students slated to return to class for the 2026-27 school year on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

The first day of school is listed as a modified day for many LEUSD students.

Here are key dates and bell times families should know before the new school year begins.

First Day Of School

The first day of school for Lake Elsinore Unified TK-12 students is Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026.

Teacher work days are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, and Monday, Aug. 10, before students return.

LEUSD Bell Times

According to the district’s bell schedule information, elementary schools generally begin at 7:50 a.m.

Elementary schools: 7:50 a.m. to 1:55 p.m. for grades 1-5.

TK and kindergarten students also begin at 7:50 a.m., though pickup times may vary by school site.

K-8 schools generally run from 8 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. for grades 1-8.

Middle and high school schedules vary by campus. The district notes that California middle and high schools must begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m., and LEUSD says it has aligned with that requirement.

Families should confirm bell times with their individual school, especially for TK, kindergarten, K-8 programs, middle schools, high schools, alternative schools, late-start Wednesdays, minimum days and special schedules.

Graduation dates for individual high schools are typically announced by each campus closer to the school year's end. Families should check with Elsinore High School, Lakeside High School, Temescal Canyon High School, Ortega High School, or their student's campus for commencement details.

Other Back-To-School Reminders

LEUSD registration for the 2026-27 school year opened in March.

Families enrolling kindergarten students should note that children must turn 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2026. Transitional kindergarten students must turn 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2026.

Breakfast is available 30 minutes before school starts at all school sites.
