Details:

On Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at 0500 hours, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station investigated a vehicle theft that occurred in the 30000 block of Via Bonica, unincorporated Lake Elsinore. Approximately one hour later, ONSTAR notified the Riverside Sheriff’s department that the vehicle was currently in the area of Grand View Dr, in the El Cerrito area. Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded and located the vehicle, which was currently mobile. The vehicle failed to yield for deputies and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit entered the city of Corona, and the Corona Police Department took over the pursuit. The suspects eventually drove to the area of Dawson Canyon and Temescal Canyon, where they abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

A search was conducted; however, the suspects were not located. Deputy Mix from the Lake Elsinore Station remained in the area and was able to locate one of the suspects. Ryan Hastings, 22 years of El Cerrito, and currently on Parole, was in possession of items belonging to the stolen vehicle. Also with him was his girlfriend, Heather Foot, 27 years of Rancho Cucamonga, who drove to the area to pick him up after learning he was running from the police. During a search of the vehicle they were in, items related to a separate vehicle burglary that occurred in the city of Lake Elsinore were also found. Officers from the city of Lake Elsinore responded to the area to complete their investigation into the Vehicle Burglary.

The second suspect in the stolen vehicle has been identified as Stephen Stubbs, 30 years of El Cerrito. He is currently being sought for questioning and anyone familiar with his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Riverside Sheriff’s Department’s Lake Elsinore Station at 245-3300 or after hours at 776-1099.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Department would like to remind all citizens to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity, including any vehicle or persons, to law enforcement.
