Wildomar, Where Animals Are More Important Than Children
What is more important in Wildomar, children or animals?
The City of Wildomar has budgeted $354,300 from the general fund to support the local animal adoption agency, Southwest Communities Animal Shelter on Mission Trail. When you add in the $80,000 in fees and fines that this agency keeps, you have citizens paying out $434,300 without voter approval of a special tax.
Using the federal census figures, approximately one-third of the households own animals whereas over 50 percent of the households have children. However, the city chooses not to spend a penny to fund parks and instead asks residents to pay a special tax for the parks by passing Measure Z on the November ballot.
It’s time for this city to get its priorities in the proper order.
