Brush Fire Chars 5 Acres Near Lake Elsinore: Cal Fire
The blaze threatened nearby structures before firefighters halted its spread Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Firefighters quickly put out a brush fire that spread to five acres near Lake Elsinore Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.
The fire was reported just after 2 p.m. in the 14800 block of Temescal Canyon Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
Fire crews responded and encountered flames as the brusher charred up to four acres at a moderate rate of spread, and threatened nearby structures.

An air attack, two air tankers, nine fire engines, three water tenders , two hand crews, a patrol and two bulldozers were utilized to stop the fire. It was contained to five acres at 2:54 p.m, fire officials said.
It was unclear how the brush fire was started.
