Brush Fire Spreads Near Perris Shooting Range
The fire broke out Friday afternoon around 1 p.m.

PERRIS, CA – Riverside County firefighters are on scene Friday of a brush fire burning in the Perris area. The fire, dubbed the Christmas incident, was reported just before 1 p.m. in the area of Christmas Tree Lane and Santa Rosa Mine Road.
The fire, which was burning at a moderate rate, had spread to 25 acres by 2:30 p.m., according to Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The blaze was burning near an outdoor shooting range west, but no homes or other structures were immediately threatened, according to officials. Gunfire at the range may have sparked the fire, according to reports from the scene.
