Candidate Filing Opens Monday For Upcoming Elsinore Elections

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Interested in getting into local politics? The candidate filing period is set to open Monday for anyone who'd like to run in the upcoming Nov. 6 election, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters said Friday.
There are several races happening throughout the county, mainly related to local school and water districts. The registrar's office said the following have open seats:

If you're interested in running for one of the above offices, papers must be filed by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10.

"If an incumbent fails to file, the deadline for that office will be extended to 5 p.m. on Aug. 15 for everyone except the incumbent," the registrar's office said.

The Registrar of Voters’ staff is available to help prospective candidates complete the necessary paperwork and to answer questions. Candidates unsure about the local district offices for which they are eligible, based on residency, should contact the Registrar of Voters office for help. Candidates will receive informational handbooks at the time they obtain their papers.
