Canyon Lake Man Recieved a double lung transplant
a wonderful new lease on life for a Canyon Lake Resident thanks to a donor
Canyon Lake Resident Randy Revard received a miraculous double lung transplant February 17. He received the gift of life at UCSD Sulpzio Cardiovascular Center. To give a idea how rare this is, the hospital only did 14 lung transplants last year. He was referred from Loma Linda because there are no Inland Empire hospitals that do lung transplants. Randy is doing wonderful so far. When the ventilator came out he said "I can breathe!" and gave a thumbs up. I can't explain the joy that burst from my heart at that moment. He was able to sit up by the second day and walk around his hospital floor after 6 days. Before the transplant he was only at 17 percent breathing capacity. Randy could not walk from a parking lot to a restaurant without being out of breathe. His quality of life will improve dramatically now and we are is so thankful for the donor and the donors family who gave him the gift of new lungs. He is expected to go back to work in 6 months. If you are interested in becoming a donor it can be added on your drivers license or you can register at donateforlife.org.
