Car Crashes Into Southwest RivCo Home, Summerhill Residents To Receive Red Cross Aid

A Wildomar family is displaced after a car careened into their home, rendering it unsafe. Here's what happened.

WILDOMAR, CA — A car plowed into a house near a Wildomar intersection Friday, causing significant damage inside and outside the residence, and displacing the family, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department officials.

Just before 12:15 p.m., officials were called to the 22200 block of Summer Sage Way, at the corner of Sunnybrook Drive, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson.

Several engine crews arrived to discover a vehicle had smashed through the closed attached garage of the home, running straight into the single-story structure's water pipes.

The motorist was not hurt, nor were any of the property's occupants.

Wildomar Building & Safety Department inspectors arrived at the scene to determine whether the home had been structurally compromised.

There were additional concerns about natural gas lines, and technicians from SoCal Gas were summoned to examine the property. It was not immediately clear if any gas leak had occurred.

Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the occupants with finding temporary alternate lodgings.

Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies were investigating the cause of the crash.
