Coroner IDs Woman Killed In Crash With Big Rig: Perris

Chrystal Romero, 26, was killed Wednesday on Harvill Avenue at the Cajalco Expressway.

PERRIS, CA — A Riverside woman was identified as the person killed when a Chrysler sedan crashed under a big rig that was making a turn in an intersection in unincorporated Mead Valley near Perris.

Chrystal Romero, 26, was killed in the crash, reported at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday on Harvill Avenue at the Cajalco Expressway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Someone inside the big rig called to report the crash, the CHP said.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to open up the crumpled car and confirm one occupant died at the scene, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department reported.

According to a GoFundMe page set up Thursday morning for Romero's family, the woman was a mother of two children.
