'Cyclocross' Is Today in Moreno Valley
Mountain bikers to compete on the MoVal Course of "grass and sand ... gravel and dirt mounds."

MORENO VALLEY, CA – The ride, hoist and run competitive bicycling sport known as "cyclocross" will draw hundreds of cyclists today to Moreno Valley, where Southern California CycloCross will hold its fourth race of the season.
The event was set for 8 a.m. at March Field Park, on the ungated eastern perimeter of March Air Reserve Base. Organizers said riders will traverse a roughly two-mile course that features "grass and sand ... gravel and dirt mounds."
"Riders must also negotiate a number of obstacles that may force them to dismount, shoulder their bikes while they negotiate the obstruction and then remount their bikes to continue riding," according to an event flier.
