Deadly Crash In Lakeland Village Claims One Life: CHP
California Highway Patrol officers say the wreck is under investigation and potential charges are pending in the case.

LAKELAND VILLAGE, CA – A 47-year-old man was killed early Tuesday morning as he was walking in the unincorporated Riverside County community of Lakeland Village, the California Highway Patrol reports. It happened at around 5:30 a.m. in the area of Grand Avenue and Skylark Drive.
According to CHP Officer Mike Lassig, the unidentified man was struck by a 72-year-old Lake Elsinore woman who was driving a 2008 Toyota Corolla.
"For reasons which are under investigation, [the Corolla's driver] made an unsafe turning movement to the right causing [her vehicle] to travel off of the roadway towards the west shoulder," a CHP news release states. "The right front of [the Corolla's] front end collided into [the man] causing major blunt trauma."
