DEFENDING CITIZENS’ RIGHTS IN THE FACE OF UNSEEMLY BEHAVIOR

Vocal heckling from certain members of the audience and obvious expressions of distain from city officials sitting behind the dais at city meetings seems to be a new norm in Wildomar – along with the thinly veiled practice of being downright rude to the citizens who dare to speak out about legitimate concerns.

While avidly loyal city supporters, local school children, grant applicants and recovering addicts are allowed to ignore speakers' restrictions and exceed the time limits for making their presentations and pleas, those citizens who wish to express their concerns over serious city business issues are often reprimanded sharply from the dais and often cut off mid-sentence.

It seems city officials and some of their loud-mouth family members think nothing of intruding on others remarks to express their displeasure over whomever and whatever is being said or done.
