Elsinore Area Gas Price Rises to Highest Amount Since July 21

Prices have reached their highest level in months, data shows.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose seven-tenths of a cent Friday to $3.561, its highest amount since July 21.

The average price is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 5.9 cents higher than one month ago and 46.1 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 48.8 cents since the start of the year because of higher oil prices.

Over the past seven days, the average price has dropped three times, risen twice and been unchanged twice.

"Local gasoline demand continues to be strong while refineries are making less fuel as they convert to production of winter-blend gasoline that can be sold in pumps starting Nov. 1," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager. "Those factors have prevented prices from dropping."
