Elsinore Valley Municipal Accepts $287,000 Insurance Refund
Safety focus and improvements prove that the priority pays off for the District.

From EVMWD: The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District’s (EVMWD) focus over the last several years on increasing employee safety and training and reducing claims has led to special recognition and a refund of $287,237.
Representatives of the Association of California Water Agencies/Joint Powers Insurance Authority (ACWA/JPIA) presented a check to the District’s Board of Directors at a recent board meeting. The refund was a partial return of the previous year’s premiums, thanks to the District’s successful efforts to control property, liability and workers’ compensation losses.
“EVMWD works hard to protect our assets and it’s nice to realize the benefits for those efforts,” John D. Vega, general manager of Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District said. “By ensuring a safe work environment for our employees and receiving this refund, our customers ultimately benefit from the cost savings.”
