Elsinore Valley Water District Honors Local Students for Water Conservation Posters in Annual Contest

This year, more than 2,600 students participated in the contest from 15 schools within Water District's service area.

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District’s Board of Directors honored the winners of its annual “Water: Use It Wisely” poster contest at a regular board meeting on Thursday, February 12, 2015. The local poster contest, which encourages messages of water conservation, has been part of Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District’s education program for over twenty years.

This year, more than 2,600 students participated from 15 schools within Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District’s service area, including Lake Elsinore Unified School District, Sycamore Academy Charter School, and Menifee Union School District. The 23 winning submissions came from students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade, who created posters that exemplified the importance of water as a life source and critical resource in the community.

During the ceremony at the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District board meeting, the students from were given recognition and awards for their accomplishments and artwork.

These winning entries now move to the Southern California competition level for the opportunity to be featured in Metropolitan Water District of California’s Be Water Wise Calendar. Students chosen will also be honored at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s annual award ceremony later this year.

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District continues to support local students in their creative endeavors and efforts to promote conservation in our service area.
