NAACP Branch 1034 Scholarship Luncheon

The Southwest Riverside County NAACP Branch 1034 will host its 4th annual scholarship award ceremony at a luncheon on Saturday, August 13, at the Diamond Restaurant located at the Storm Stadium in Lake Elsinore.

The doors will open at 1 p.m. for sign-in and social mingling, with open bar, followed by lunch at 2 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend and/or contribute to this fundraising event for the scholarship fund. All proceeds from the luncheon will be used for annual scholarships awarded to local area graduating seniors and continuing undergraduate students.

To date, NAACP 1034 has awarded 24 scholarships totaling $24,000 to local area students. These scholarships are used to pay for tuition or other miscellaneous expenses related to the students’ education, and the money given never has to be repaid. However, the recipients must promise to pay it forward by giving back to their communities.

T-shirts, various art and other items will be available for purchase, as well as a 50-50 opportunity drawing. Tickets are $25 each or $145 per table of 6. Tickets are expected to go fast, especially since only 150 will be sold, on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Ticket sales are open to the public and request must be received no later than August 2. To buy a ticket, send a check or money order made payable to “NAACP Branch 1034” with a memo notation of “Scholarship Luncheon”.
