EVMWD Gives Shout Out To Lowe's

The following is a news release from EVMWD:

The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District recognized the Lake Elsinore Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse for their contributions to EVMWD and the community at last Thursday’s board meeting. Lowe’s has served as a key partner for EVMWD in assisting to raise awareness about conservation in the Lake Elsinore area.

Over the past several years, Lowe’s has taken many opportunities to partner with EVMWD to share a message of water conservation inside and outside of the home. Lowe’s supported EVMWD in promoting the importance of California friendly landscaping by offering many native and drought tolerant plant choices in their nursery. EVMWD, in turn, has utilized the wide variety of California friendly plants to adorn it’s ‘Saving Water is Easy’ float in Lake Elsinore’s  ‘Unity in the Community’ parade each year.

Lowe’s also made significant contributions to the area’s first California friendly demonstration garden, called the "Temescal Garden Showcase," located at the Storm Stadium in Lake Elsinore. The Temescal Garden Showcase, created by EVMWD, features three drought tolerant landscapes that display a variety of colorful plants, shrubs and flowers  where visitors can gather ideas to recreate their own more water efficient front yards.

Lowe’s has participated in many community events hosted by EVMWD, offering customers coupons for water saving products and advice on water conservation.

“We are grateful for the support that Lowe’s has given to our conservation program,” said EVMWD Board President Phil Williams. “It’s an opportunity for EVMWD to participate in a public/ private partnership that benefits the community and the people that we serve.”

In recognition of Lowe’s dedication to conservation, the EVMWD Board of Directors adopted a resolution and presented to A.J. Nuseibtel, manager of the Lake Elsinore Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse.

“It has been our pleasure to work with EVMWD,” said Nuseibtel. “We look forward to continuing to share the importance of conservation through our efforts and relationship with the Water District.”
