EVMWD Honors Local Students for Water Conservation Art at Annual Contest
Students Draw on Artistic Talents to explain Importance of Water

LAKE ELSINORE, CA – More than 2,300 elementary students from a dozen schools participated in EVMWD’s annual “Water: Use it Wisely” poster contest. The 21 winning submissions came from students in kindergarten through fifth grade, who created posters illustrating the importance of water as a life source and critical resource. EVMWD has sponsored the contest for more than 20 years, and recognized the artists at the Feb. 9 Board meeting.
The winning entries are submitted to Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for a regional competition. The top artwork selected in that contest will be featured on Metropolitan’s “Water is Life” calendar.
Participating students came from Lake Elsinore Unified School District, Sycamore Academy Charter School, and Menifee Union School District.
