EVMWD Taps New Assistant General Manager

In his role, Ganesh Krishamurthy will support EVMWD General Manager Greg Thomas.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA – Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) has selected Ganesh Krishnamurthy, P.E., as the new Assistant General Manager for Engineering and Operations.

In this role, Krishamurthy will support General Manager Greg Thomas in accomplishing board objectives, implementing EVMWD’s strategic plan, and managing complex projects. He will directly oversee EVMWD’s water resources, engineering, and operations departments.

Krishnamurthy has over 15 years of experience in the water industry across the public and private sectors in the areas of infrastructure, water resources, regulatory compliance, and technology. Most recently, he was a Vice-President at a technology firm helping water utilities optimize their investments in advanced metering infrastructure.

In prior roles, Krishnamurthy served as a consultant to EVMWD, advising the agency on a variety of infrastructure, water resources, and regulatory compliance issues. He also served as the Water Resources Manager for EVMWD during the historic drought in California in 2014 and led EVMWD’s compliance activities in response to mandatory water restrictions. During his tenure at EVMWD, Krishnamurthy oversaw the development of EVMWD’s first Integrated Resources Plan outlining the long-term strategy for providing reliable water supplies to one of the fastest growing areas in Riverside County.

Krishnamurthy is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in California and holds BS/MS degrees in Civil Engineering. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
