Family-Owned Emilio's Mexican Restaurant To Open In Lake Elsinore
Emilio's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina has been operating in San Jacinto since 1983. Now the family is opening a second location.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A 6,730-square-foot space at 31712 Casino Drive in Lake Elsinore will soon be the site of Emilio's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina.
The San Jacinto restaurant that is famous for its margaritas and traditional Mexican fare announced the Lake Elsinore venture Wednesday on Facebook.
Emilio's is an authentic local family business. It was the creation of Emilio and Shirley Redin, who opened the doors to their San Jacinto eatery on September 19, 1983.

The restaurant is now owned and operated by the second generation of Redins: husband and wife, Juan Carlos and Toni Redin. Toni is a native of San Jacinto, while Juan Carlos was born and raised in Central Mexico. They took over Emilio's in September 2000.
Their son, Zane, and his wife, Makayla, will head up the Lake Elsinore site, according to the social media post. Zane, like most of his nine siblings, grew up working at Emilio's.

"Please help us Congratulate our son, Zane, and daughter in love, Makayla, as they start this journey as Emilio’s owners," the social media post said. "Zane’s first job was at Emilio’s. He worked at the restaurant for several years before venturing out into heavy equipment operating.
"Makayla has been working at Emilio’s for over seven years," the post continued. "We are humbled and honored to have Zane and Makayla join us in growing what Emilio started in 1983."
The timeframe for the Lake Elsinore location opening is still being worked out. SVN Insight just announced Thursday via Twitter that a lease had been signed for the spot.
"The new tenant will open their second location of Emilio's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina," the tweet said.
The Emilio's social media post said, "We will keep you all updated on when they will be ready for Chip Dippin & Margarita Sippin'!"
