Fire Chars Nine Acres Near Lake Elsinore

A wildland fire that burned nine acres on the outskirts of Lake Elsinore has been contained.
The blaze at Canyon Hills Road and Cottonwood Canyon was reported at 1:08 p.m. and was contained by 2 p.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.
The fire destroyed two outbuildings, but there were no injuries, Hagemann reported.

Eleven engines and two overhead personnel tackled the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
