The Ontario Mills mall was evacuated and closed on Friday after a fire erupted inside one of its shops. Arson is suspected, police say.

ONTARIO, CA — A fire broke out at a jeans store inside the Ontario Mills Mall, prompting a closure and a full evacuation of the structure on Friday.

Ontario Police have identified a suspect and have taken them into custody; their identity is not immediately known. There is no active threat, police say, though the building will remain closed for an indeterminate period of time.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., fire erupted at the True Religion Brand Jeans Store at 1 Mills Circle in Ontario. Video captured at the scene shows large orange flames emanating from the store's main entrance as well as startled onlookers.
