First Mile/Last Mile Mobility Study

A Study to identify ways to improve access to and from our bus stops.

Whether it’s a trip to work, shopping, or a lift home, public transportation rarely stops directly in front of a passenger’s origin or destination. That’s why transit users often rely on other ways to get to and from their bus stop — like walking, biking or using a wheelchair or skateboard, among other things. These types of connections are referred to as “first and last mile” methods of travel, although actual distances, of course, are different for every person.

RTA launched the First Mile/Last Mile Mobility Study to identify ways to improve access to and from our bus stops. The overall goal of these improvements is to increase both transit ridership and city livability.

The study will identify challenges and offer solutions to passengers who travel to and from bus stops. This study will also look at ways to improve park-and-ride areas, drop-off locations, carpool, and bike share options.

Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) are seeking residents to take a survey to better help us understand barriers to riding transit. The more surveys we receive the more complete understanding we have and the better we can formulate plans to better our network. The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RTAFLM

And remember, one lucky survey entry will win a $100 Visa gift card at the end of August.
