Frito-Lay To Lay Off Hundreds In The Inland Empire, Snack Business Warns
With the coming full shutdown of the distribution hub, 248 people will be out of work.
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA — Frito-Lay, owned by PepsiCo Foods, is closing its distribution hub on Archibald Avenue this summer and has filed notice with the Employment Development Department that it is 60 days from a mass layoff.
In 2025, Frito-Lay production at that same facility on Archibald Avenue stopped. The business has cited rising costs and declining sales as reasons for the ultimate shutdown.
A statement from PepsiCo, received by KTLA, shared the reasons.

“We will be shifting these operations to a new distribution center in the local community to better serve our customers and consumers,” PepsiCo said in a statement to KTLA. “We are committed to treating impacted employees with the utmost care, including providing pay and benefits continuation based on their years of service, along with transition assistance and career support.”
The story, shared on Reddit, was answered by one commenter who shared that the factory and distribution hub had been active since they were a Cub Scout in the 1970s.

"I got to eat an oven hot Funyon, right off the assembly belt," he said. "I still live in the area, literally, after 60 years."
