Gas Price Drops For 23rd Time In 25 Days Near Lake Elsinore

However, the average price per gallon is still 74.7 cents more than one year ago, data shows.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped a half-cent Friday to $3.602, the 23rd decrease in 25 days.

The average price is 1.8 cents less than one week ago and 9.7 cents lower than one month ago but 74.7 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 52.9 cents since the start of the year.

A 20-day streak of falling prices ended Monday when the average price was unchanged. It dropped four-tenths of a cent Tuesday and two-tenths of a cent Wednesday and was unchanged Thursday.

"Wholesale gas prices moved back up last week on concerns about inventory, which kept pump price changes at a minimum," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
