RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA – Ramps connecting the Riverside (91) Freeway to Interstate 15 in Corona will be taken out of service this evening and Tuesday night for maintenance, and motorists are being advised to expect delays.

According to the Riverside County Transportation Commission, both the east- and westbound 91 connectors to southbound I-15 will be shut down between 8 and 9 p.m., re-opening about 5 a.m. Tuesday, with similar closures in effect Tuesday into Wednesday.

Detours will be in effect, taking motorists off of the freeway and onto surface streets, where they will be routed back to the freeway, RCTC officials said.

According to the agency, the closures are necessary as crews carry out clean-up maintenance tied to the $1.4 billion 91 Project Fast Forward, which officially wrapped up in April. The project added one general purpose lane on each side of the 91 between the Orange County line and I-15, as well as two additional express toll lanes on both sides of the freeway in the same area.

Connector bridges and shoulders were also widened throughout the construction zone.

On Wednesday night, the northbound 15 connector to the westbound 91 will be closed, and on Thursday night, the northbound connector to eastbound 91 will be shut down. Both closures are scheduled to occur between 8 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.
