Holiday Toy Drive Underway At Lake Elsinore Unified Schools: 2022

LEUSD families can donate to the Cops for Kids toy drive at all schools and the district office. Donations would be accepted until 12/15.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The Cops for Kids Holiday toy collection drive was underway, according to Cops for Kids Lake Elsinore and the Lake Elsinore Unified School District.

Families who will benefit from the toy drive must live within Lake Elsinore Unified School District Boundary and be considered low-income, according to the program.

Toys are being donated by sponsors and families of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. Each school is gathering toys and games through Dec. 15, the district announced over social media, and gifts are for children from newborn to 12 years old, according to the Cops For Kids Holiday Assistance website.

Students, teachers and nearby residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys or games at any Lake Elsinore school or at the Lake Elsinore Unified School District Office, officials say.

"Since 1995, Cops for Kids, Inc. has assisted children, seniors, and families that find themselves in unfortunate situations," according to their Facebook page. "Through generous donations from local business sponsors and individuals in our community, Cops for Kids has enabled children and seniors to enjoy some of the basic necessities that were not available to them through other agencies."

Collection boxes are available at each LEUSD school and at the district office. Ideas for donations include:

  • Stuffed animals.
  • Toddler toys.
  • Games.
  • Dolls.
  • Sporting goods.

Toy delivery will be held on Dec. 17, and residents must have already registered by the end of day, Dec. 5.
