In-Home Caregivers Sought In Riverside County, Job Fair Scheduled

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Thousands of caregivers are needed to assist Riverside County’s growing aging population and a hiring event is scheduled for those interested in helping local seniors who live at home.
The County of Riverside's In-Home Supportive Services is holding a free online hiring event Wednesday for in-home caregivers who want to help older adults and those with disabilities.

Online access will be open between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Job seekers can chat with recruiters who will answer questions and help candidates apply for available positions through online self-registration.

One in every five of the county’s 2.5 million residents is age 60 or older — a population projected to swell by 250 percent in coming decades, according to the County of Riverside. The need for home-care caregivers is especially great in the Coachella Valley, Anza, Blythe, Idyllwild and Hemet, officials said.

Applicants must pass a background check, drug screening and be able to perform caregiver responsibilities including household chores, meal preparation and bathing. Caregivers will have access to training and, if requested, will receive essential protective gear to protect against the spread of COVID-19.
