Inaugural Wildomar Founders Week Underway

The event runs Feb. 7-13.

is a new city with a long history that dates back more than 100 years. To celebrate the town’s founding, the Wildomar Historical Society is sponsoring the Inaugural Wildomar Founders Week, Feb. 7-13.

As part of the celebration, the following events are scheduled:

Feb. 11: At 1:15 p.m., fourth- and fifth-graders at will have a school bell-ringing and a slide show narrated by City Councilman Bob Cashman and Military Veteran Michael Sheehan.

Feb. 12: The located at 21180 Waite St. will host the Pechanga Cultural Resource Department as it provides history presentations and handouts, and offers traditional foods and information on native plants. The event begins at 2 p.m. At 3 p.m., Post 1508 will host Author Elizabeth Pomery as she takes center stage costumed as Margaret Collier Graham, one of Wildomar's first ladies. From 4 – 5:30 p.m., the Post will serve refreshments; entertainment will also be provided.

Feb. 13: Officials will ring the historic bell. The bell in the tower dates back to Thanksgiving Day 1888, when it was dedicated to Wildomar’s United Presbyterian Church.
