Investigation Continues After 3 People Injured In Lake Elsinore Boat Fire

The blaze was reported at 6:27 p.m. Sunday in the middle of the lake, according to the fire department.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A weekend boat fire on Lake Elsinore that injured three people remained under investigation Monday by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The blaze was reported at 6:27 p.m. Sunday in the middle of the lake, according to the fire department.

Firefighters were ferried out to the blaze on a Riverside County Sheriff's Department boat, and flames were extinguished with a portable pump just before 7:30 p.m.

One person on the burning boat suffered moderate injuries while two suffered minor injuries, the fire department reported. Information about the victims was not released.

The destroyed boat was towed out of the water.

The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding it continue to be investigated. No arrests were announced.
