Lake Elsinore Blaze Displaces Family Of 6, Red Cross Called To Assist

Parents and four children were forced from their Deergrass Way home after the fire erupted Tuesday evening.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A family of six was displaced after their home caught fire Tuesday evening.

Shortly before 6:15 p.m., Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department arrived at the scene of the blaze in the 34000 block of Deergrass Way. There, the first arriving company officer noted the home was fully ablaze, with "heavy fire and smoke showing."

Firefighters managed to contain the blaze within 15 minutes of arrival, though the home was declared unlivable for the family.

Firefighters called the Red Cross to assist with aiding the family during their displacement.

"There were no injuries to firefighters, civilians, or pets in the incident," Cal Fire said.

Resources stayed on the scene until after 8 p.m. for mop-up operations, and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
