Lake Elsinore City Council Approves Expansion Plans
"People want to be in Lake Elsinore," Councilman Brian Tisdale said of his city.

During Tuesday night’s Lake Elsinore City Council meeting, two projects were approved that council members say showcase the city’s growth.
In unanimous votes by the council, the green light was given to McMillin Homes to move forward with construction on 74 single-family detached homes in the continually expanding Summerly Development near The Diamond.
The one- and two-story residences will range in size from 2,400 to 2,800 square feet, with the option on some floor plans to expand to approximately 3,700 square feet.

The sale prices on the new homes are expected to range from the high $200,000 up to $350,000 for the larger floor plans, according to Richard MacHott, acting planning manager for the city.
Councilwoman Natasha Johnson said the larger square footage is a good sign for Lake Elsinore because the tract raises the median home price in the city and increases the tax base.

Sales of the new homes are expected to begin in May.
In a separate 5-0 vote Tuesday, council members approved a 3,500-square-foot expansion of Cardenas Market on Mission Trail. The expansion space is expected to be used mostly for warehousing.
Once the expansion is complete, the market, which targets Latino customers, will be approximately 29,000 square feet in size, MacHott explained.
The acting planning manager said he believes Cardenas management is anxious to begin the expansion immediately.
Councilman Brian Tisdale told Tuesday’s audience that Lake Elsinore is one of the state’s fastest growing cities and he praised the Summerly and Cardenas expansions as examples of Lake Elsinore’s attractiveness.
